Six young adults have officially graduated from the Southern Connecticut State University Drone Academy, a hands-on training program supported by The WorkPlace. Over several weeks, participants learned safe drone operation, aerial photography, 3D modeling, maintenance, and FAA test preparation—earning their FAA TRUST Certificates and even receiving their own drones to continue practicing.
During the celebration on November 7, graduates shared personal reflections and premiered a video capturing their experience. One student summed up the impact in a heartfelt note: “This program is truly opening new doors and opportunities for me.”
Funded by the U.S. Department of Labor through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, the program highlights the power of partnership and innovation in helping young adults take flight toward new career opportunities. Congratulations to the graduates!
