Platform to Employment is a worthwhile program that must continue for years to come. As a long-term unemployed individual, I had sought out a variety of career centers and coaches before this experience. However, none offered the complete immersion of P2E’s full-time classes and these three distinct advantages.
- You get meaningful socialization. We lose this when we are out of work, and it’s a key part of what we need to get back to work. P2E challenges you to “know yourself” and present it to others. People are celebrated and reminded that they more than just unemployed.
- You get a complete staff to assist you. Our trainer explained strategies for today’s newly complicated job market in detail. Our coach worked tirelessly for a huge group of current and past cohorts, always steering people in the right direction. The employer relations specialist was actively on the hunt for jobs and advocating for your place in the market. There were a variety of presenters including social media experts, local employers, and Department of Labor representatives . There was even access to a therapist. Plus, you’ll meet the program’s founder Joe Carbone and attend a formal graduation.
- You get the information. Books, online courses, articles and even audio material. It’s not a heavy pace, and what you want is available when you want it. I may have education and experience, but here I’ve learned how to present it to an employer in a way that is memorable. Job search strategies are described that will stop the days of you from sending resumes into an online black hole. You’ll even put it all together in a real-life group experience project.
While I’m still seeking my next career opportunity, I’ve been given the tools to move forward. It’s truly what they call in P2E a Unique Value Proposition. You’ll learn how to market yourself as a brand, just as P2E itself is a sterling brand.
